Erin Arnold and Louis Phillips Featured Speakers at LSU Bankruptcy Law Conference

Erin Arnold and Louis Phillips were featured speakers at the 30th Annual LSU Bankruptcy Law Conference, held on October 10-11, 2024, in Baton Rouge.

Louis Phillips joined Bill Rochelle of the American Bankruptcy Institute and U.S. Bankruptcy Judge Meredith Grabill to discuss recent national, circuit, and Louisiana decisions, as well as the founding of the LSU Bankruptcy Conference. Their panel emphasized the conference’s role in fostering legal knowledge, ethical practices, and mentorship for newer attorneys.

Additionally, Mr. Phillips participated in a lively speed-round discussion on key issues in bankruptcy law, including fees, non-consensual third-party releases, and technology in practice.

Erin Arnold participated in a panel on “Who’s in Charge? Consent & Authority to Enter and Participate in Bankruptcy,” focusing on ethical guidelines for verifying authority in bankruptcy proceedings, referencing relevant Rules of Professional Conduct and Bankruptcy Rules.
