J. Jody Walker

BIOGRAPHY

Jody Walker’s areas of practice encompass a broad range of real estate transactions, including acquisitions, dispositions, leasing, and development of both unimproved and improved real property. He represents a variety of publicly traded and privately held companies, universities, real estate funds, and individuals in all types of complex real estate matters, including industrial, office, hospitality, retail, and multi-family projects.

Mr. Walker has experience representing borrowers, lenders, and investors in connection with interim, permanent, construction, and other types of financing transactions, whether secured or unsecured.  He also provides legal advice and assists clients in licensing and permitting matters with the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission in connection with his real estate practice.

EXPERIENCE AND HIGHLIGHTS
  • Assists in the representation of owner and developer of a 26,000+ acre master-planned international trade and logistics center and mixed use development with regard to development, leases and sales to numerous Fortune 500 companies for industrial, office, retail and other projects
  • Represents a Fixed-Base Operator at one of the first industrial airports in the nation that supports global logistics for companies and personnel in their complex cargo, aviation, and executive travel needs by negotiating fuel supply agreements, hangar licenses, office leases, branding agreements, and affiliate licenses
  • Assists in the representation of developer in connection with 240 acre Frisco Station development surrounding the new Dallas Cowboys headquarters in Frisco, Texas
  • Represents owners, developers, and tenants in ground lease transactions for hospitality, industrial, and retail projects
  • Provides a variety of legal services to owners and developers in the acquisition, development, leasing, and sale of office buildings, hotels, mixed use developments, industrial parks, and multi-family developments throughout Texas
  • Represented a national railroad company in the acquisition and development of property for intermodal freight, warehouse and distribution facilities near Fort Worth, Chicago, St. Louis, San Antonio, Los Angeles, and Denver
