Andrew H. Neal

BIOGRAPHY

Andrew [Drew] H. Neal is a partner in the firm’s Oil & Gas section. He represents producers, operators, mineral buyers, and landowners in a variety of oil and gas transactions, including buying and selling mineral and royalty interests, producing properties, joint development agreements, leasing, operating agreements, and other transactions involving development of oil and gas assets.

Mr. Neal graduated with a B.A. from Wheaton College in Illinois. In 2010, he received his J.D. from St. Mary’s University School of Law, where he served as an associate editor at St. Mary’s Law Journal. Prior to law school, he worked as a landman and right-of-way agent for oil and gas companies throughout Texas.

Mr. Neal is a member of the Tarrant County Bar Association, Tarrant County Young Lawyer’s Association, Dallas Bar Association, Dallas Association of Petroleum Landmen, and the Young Professionals in Energy of Dallas and Fort Worth.

  • Represented a publicly traded client in the acquisition of certain mineral and royalty interests for cash and equity consideration valued over $455 million
  • Represented a publicly traded oil and gas company in the acquisition of certain mineral and royalty interests located in the Texas Delaware Basin, totaling over $290 million
  • Represented a private equity portfolio company in the sale of mineral and royalty properties for a combined purchase price of $230 million
  • Represented a publicly traded oil and gas company in the acquisition of mineral and royalty interests located in Northern Midland Basin area of the Permian Basin, totaling over $143 million
  • Represented private equity portfolio company in the acquisition of mineral interests and overriding royalty interests located in Delaware and Midland Basins, totaling over $100 million
  • Represented a private equity portfolio E&P company in the acquisition of oil and gas leasehold interests and related assets in Permian Basin, totaling over $186 million
  • Represented a publicly traded client in the acquisition of certain mineral and royalty interests for cash and equity consideration valued at approximately $175 million
  • Represented client in the acquisition of oil and gas producing minerals and overriding royalty interests located in Eddy and Lea Counties, New Mexico, for a purchase price of $83 million
  • Represented client in the acquisition of producing leasehold interests located in Lea County, New Mexico totaling over $64 million
  • Represented a publicly traded client in $52 million acquisition of mineral, royalty, and overriding royalty interests located across Anadarko and Ardmore Basins
  • Represented a private equity portfolio company in the acquisition of mineral and royalty interests located in 58 counties across Texas from an undisclosed limited partnership based in Houston for a purchase price of $115 million
  • Represented a publicly traded company in the acquisition of certain Eagle Ford Shale producing and non-producing mineral, royalty, and overriding royalty properties in an all-equity transaction valued at $31.8 million
  • Represented client in the sale of its oil and gas leasehold interests and related upstream assets in Reeves County for a purchase price of $855 million
  • Represented publicly traded E&P company in coordinated divestiture with eight separate purchasers to divest certain acreage and associated production in the Permian Basin totaling over $50 million
  • Represented a group of privately held entities in the sale of certain overriding royalty interests located in Eddy and Lea Counties, New Mexico, for $35 million
  • Represented multiple sellers in the sale of certain oil and gas producing properties located in Loving County, Texas, and Lea County, New Mexico, for a total price of over $41 million
  • Represented multiple sellers in the sale of oil and gas producing properties located in Martin County, Texas, totaling over $31 million
  • Represented a privately held company in the sale of mineral and royalty interests in Loving, Reeves, Culberson, Pecos, and Ward Counties for a total price of over $23 million
