BIOGRAPHY

Derek W. Anderson has represented numerous individual and corporate clients over a broad spectrum of matters in civil litigation. He has developed concentration areas in breach of contract actions, uniform commercial code cases, insurance coverage disputes (including duty to defend and bad faith actions), misappropriations of trade secret actions, and numerous business tort actions. In addition, Mr. Anderson has defended legal malpractice claims against attorneys from other law firms and represented attorneys from other law firms in grievance actions.

EXPERIENCE AND HIGHLIGHTS
  • Successfully secured judgment against manufacturing company for claims arising under the Uniform Commercial Code
  • Successfully defended corporation against claim of securities fraud arising in sale of business. Secured sanctions against plaintiff for filing frivolous lawsuit
  • Prosecuted and defended international cases in the London Court of International Arbitration and the International Center for Dispute Resolution
  • Successfully defended lawyers in disciplinary proceedings with State Bar of Texas
  • Successfully defended lawyers in legal malpractice actions
  • Successfully defended insurance policy holders in insurance coverage disputes
